Mix & Match Layered Door Mats

April 2, 2019

Spring is coming, so I hear… It snowed in Indianapolis this weekend but the weeks forecast is looking up!

Heading into the spring, a new door mat can spice up the exterior of your home for spring and just bring an element of ‘homie-ness’ to the look. When I posted my first layered mat a couple of years ago on Instagram (before I even started this blog), I got messages about where and how much you loved the look. Because of that love, I wanted to provide you with some inspiration heading into the spring!

In the past, I have gone with a simple buffalo check with a heart mat, but opted for a heavier weave to change things up! I will say, my buffalo check was very budget friendly and I’ve even washed it a few times and is still holding up nicely! That being said, I’m sure you will see it again when I go for a flip. In the meantime, I found a new option for my front stoop that is out there for a fresh new look, but I do have a few more in my back pocket.

It’s a bit of a no brainer, the recipe here. Door mats can be a bit small (but I also have a large mat for a statement as well). However, the layered mats just add so much warmth and character to your front stoop. The key is to ensure than your under layer mat is large enough to be clearly seen under your top layer mat.

Here is some inspiration for you for the spring flip!
