It’s March (FINALLY) and our minds are turning to spring. Weather can still be chilly, but it will be spring non the less. With spring in the midwest comes some warmer temperatures but not balmy and sunny quite yet. We get the ‘get me outside’ jitters and at the change of fashion and the update of some home details.
I’m not looking for lots of new items to add to my closet or my home. I’m looking for the classics, the practical and the useful. I urge you to not fill your home or your closet with things as an escape from the season or in over the top excitement. What is best for your closet and your home? About half of the items in the fashion category I own already and continue to use and same is true for the home category below. My goal is to inspire you to find great items for each that you use and use regularly. So here we go!
I’m excited to have tanner skin but also start using some spring and summer shoes while snagging a few other staples to add to my closet. I have some favorites that transfer within seasons and some that have been in hiding since the last batch of warm-ish weather. I’m including some of my favorites and some items I’m eyeing to add to my closet heading into 2019.
Again, the weather isn’t necessary balmy here yet, but less puffy coats and less layers. I’ll be trading in that puffy for a classic denim or my favorite classic UGG Sweatshirt. And that new favorite beanie of mine for my favorite straw hat.
Regular pieces in my closet with the search of more fabulous staples. I’m scooping a few of these myself 🙂 This straw bag screams spring/summer. Can be used as a beach bag or with that perfect maxi dress and denim jacket on a Saturday afternoon.
And then there is (possibly my favorite) Home items to start the kick to a fresh spring! Flipping those outdoor mats and maybe layering them differently with a new wreath that hasn’t endured the long winter that is behind us 🙂
And even if the weather last a little longer, there is always a good faux tree to keep the house lively or a sunny window for a live one. I am a firm believer that greenery inside the home goes a long way and changes the welcome of the home.
Personally, I have been eying some acrylic frames for my upstairs hallway (Crate & Barrel or more budget friendly Amazon version). They add some flair to the hallway without bulking it up like your standard frames may.
So today, a little spring inspiration for you 🙂
