You push and push and push….. to get to that light at the end of the tunnel as you sit in your work cube…. the only thing that keeps you going is knowing that relaxation and reflection and family are at the other end. Thank goodness that day came 🙂
I was blessed enough to not just spend a few days, but instead, a whoooooooooooole weeeeeeeeeeek with my family vacationing on the shores of Lake Michigan. It was a great reprieve from the heat that engulfs you during this season in Florida. We spent the week in a little town known as South Haven on the coast of Michigan.
Time spent relaxing, strolling, and going at high force. We were able to enjoy the conversations and the laughs without anything or anyone hustling us off to the next task of life. It was a true vacation.
But I will say….. I DID CATCH THE BIGGEST FISH! The big one in the middle… the 21 pound Salmon, yes, that would be mine 🙂 And he tasted rather delicious!
It is true what they say, absence makes the heart go fonder. My family has a very special place in my heart. If you were a fly on the wall you would probably shake your head at the ridiculousness, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. God was so good to me when he decided to give me this family twenty five years ago. I just shake my head in disbelief that He would give me something so magnificent.
So thank you, Michigan, for the reminder of my blessings and the laughs and sweet moments we had during this week in August.
Until next time…
